does your text have a clear story?
Yes. It is becuase from begginning to the end, the story has a clear narrative and the main story is clear through out the opening. The close up off the "top secret disk", shows the audience that the main focus off the opening is on that disk and the following shots will be influenced on this.

is the structure linear/non linear/montage?
The structure of our childrens film oppening is linear. furthermore the sequence focuses on the present day. the whole opening is kind off a montage as in the scenes quickly pass to then reveal the majority of the story in short succestion

are there key roles within the narrative? (propp/strauss)
Our Childrens film follows Propps Theory of 8 Characters. There is a hero and villan which are shown from the first two shots of the sequence. Furthermore the  the helper is introduced within the first sequence. This shows the audience that the rest of the film would follow these conventions.  The opening sequence also follows the Strauss theory, where there is a contrast and they rival each other for example the Hero and Villian.

the film will have a happy ending and it gives the audience something to relate to and something they want to see. as the film is just an opening i feel that the opening is clear and is what the audience want.

What are the audiences expectations of the narrative in this genre?
The audience, expect that and childrens film should end with a happy ending, and that the good guy will always defeat the evil person in the film. Additionally the audience expect there to be a fight between the two people and expect the good guy to come out on top.

what is the function of narrative for audiences and institutions?
narrative structure is important because it is a kids film everyone expects a happy ending and also kids can relate to the video.
